La Perla is synonymous with luxury across the world, and it isn’t just exquisite underwear that they create – there is also a beautiful home accessories line created in collaboration with leading Italian textiles company Fazzini. The home collection focuses on luxury linens across bed linen and towelling, using the sumptuous materials associated with La Perla, such as silks and the highest quality cottons.

Why do you think Italian style has endured in both the fashion and home style markets for so long?
Italy is the only country in the world, which has had almost 20 centuries of excellence in architecture, art, culture and especially in craftsmanship. This had led to a strong tradition in Arts and in artisan products that is still the base for creating new lifestyles and trends in fashion.
What does luxury mean to you?
To me Luxury means the possibility to choose the preferred materials, colors and styles in everything you love to surround yourself with.

I have always been fascinated by the Maison design. I like mixing the opulence of the design Maison with the extreme linearity of the Nervures in pure colors.

How would you describe your own home style and what’s your favorite room in your home & why?
The style of my home is sober and modern but with a touch of the passed times and of my family history. I love being home in contact with nature, this is the reason why my favorite room is the bio-climatic greenhouse I have in my garden where I like pampering myself with the things I love, feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin.
What advice would you offer an aspiring new homeware designer?
I would advise to study History of Arts, to look around and find a way to express the balance and the harmony coming from past times in a new way.
Interior style has become as important as sartorial style in recent years – why do you think this is?
We are all tired of the made – in – series- products and we would like to express our uniqueness as human being in our home.
Do you have any home fashion trend predictions for the coming months?
Well, I do not give you a prediction but a wish: that after the end of the minimal monochromatic style and the ornamental exasperations there will be a return to natural materials and fabrics enhanced by manual skills.
